Please note in 2011 the industry classifications changed, therefore the data is presented in a different way from 2011 on. Please also note that 2011 data is provisional and subject to change.

Please note: Education numbers are comparatively high due to diligent reporting in the industry, which is thought to be more about the higher reporting rate as opposed to a higher incidence rate. The statistics include a large number of pupils attending facilities on a daily basis including children playing at the playground.

The statistics show the number of serious harm incidents, including fatalities, notified to the Department of Labour under the Health and Safety in Employment (HSE) Act 1992.
