Notice of Exemption for Equipment under the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999[1]

Pursuant to Regulation 6 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999, I, Richard Steel, Manager, Technical Support Services, in exercise of the powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, give notice of exemption from the requirements of these Regulations for design verification of the following equipment:

as specified in the Approved Code of Practice for Cranes (3rd edition), which comes into effect on Thursday, 7 January 2010.

This exemption is subject to the condition that the above-named equipment is certified by a chartered professional engineer with respect to design, construction and non-destructive testing, as relevant.

The structural certificate issued must specify:

The exemptions and conditions will take effect on Thursday, 7 January 2010.

Notice of Exemption for Equipment under the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999[2]

Pursuant to Regulation 6 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes, and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999, I, Richard Steel, Manager, Technical Support Services, in exercise of the powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, give notice of exemption from the requirements of these Regulations for design verification of the following equipment:

This exemption is subject to the condition that that above-named equipment is assessed by an equipment inspector employed or engaged by an inspection body with respect to design, construction and non-destructive testing, as relevant, inspected and load tested.

An inspection body may then issue a certification of inspection on the recommendation of the equipment inspector.

This exemption will take effect on Thursday, 7 January 2010.
