ACC

ACC is a government-owned corporation that gives New Zealanders financial help if they have an accident, no matter who is at fault.

• Prevent injuries wherever they can happen: at home, at work, playing sport or on the road
• Help injured people get well and get back to work
• Work with different communities to prevent injuries

The Department of Labour

Workplace Health and Safety is a service of the Department of Labour that helps workplaces stay safe and healthy, so they can keep working successfully.

The Department’s work

• Prevent harm to people at work or in places of work
• Help workplaces be safe and healthy
• Visit workplaces and investigate serious accidents
• Enforce the law about health and safety and hazardous substances in workplaces

ACC and The Department work together to keep New Zealanders healthy and safe. They work with high-risk industries, with individual employers and with accident victims to make sure that New Zealand can learn from experience and become a safer, healthier place to live.
